OSEKO TRUMPS KWAME

The Mwalimu National Sacco elections for Mekenene zone delegate is over, at least for now. The election that was postponed last time due to numerous challenges was conducted today at Nyakongo primary school in Masaba North sub-county of Nyamira county.
Unlike last time where there were four contestants, today only three candidates expressed interest for the seat. Madam Edna Rasugu of Menyenya S.D.A had opted out in favor of Mr. Douglas Oseko of Ekerubo Gietai secondary school.

The process ran smoothly and finally Mr. Obwocha of Nyandoche Ibere girls secondary school, who was perceived as the underdog in the race, managed to garner 19 votes.
Mr. Kwame who hails from a different zone but insisted to vie in Mekenene citing the Sacco by-laws managed 50 votes.
Mr. Douglas Oseko was declared the winner with a total of 70 votes. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Oseko thanked the member for believing in him. He reiterated his campaign promises and said that he will do his best to fulfill them.
The editor of this blog takes this earliest opportune time to congratulate Mr. Oseko and wish him all the best in his new assignment.
